Larose-Cutoff Middle School Shooting

A school shooting happened this morning at the Larose-Cutoff Middle School in Lafourche Parish. An unidentified 15 year old male student shot at and missed a teacher. Following the shooting, the student ran to a restroom where he shot himself in the head. He is now at Lady of the Sea Hospital in Galliano and is in critical condition.

The students have been brought to the nearby VFW hall where they will reside until all students are accounted for. You can call 693-8600 to arrange pickup of your child.

The marker on the map below is the location of the shooting. As you can tell, it’s quite far from Baton Rouge.
